Murano glass: history, technology and art
Lots of incredible arts and crafts have made Venice famous over the centuries, but the Murano glass is certainly the best known.This tour is designed for those who want to understand the history of glass and its styles in more depth, instead of just strolling through the little shops that the island has to offer.
The tour includes a water taxi transfer from Venice to Murano and back, in order to optimize the time dedicated to the experience on the island of Murano.The first part of the visit is dedicated to the Murano Glass Museum, where you will have the opportunity to admire incredible antique pieces, from Renaissance goblets to eighteenth-century chandeliers, from incredible mirrors to murrine.In the second part of the visit we will move to a non-tourist furnace to admire the glass blowing and production: where science meets real art!If you wish, you can devote some time to authentinc and responsible shopping.
